Frequently asked questions
How is commission calculated?
Commission = sale amount × commission rate ÷ 100. A 10,000 sale at a 5% rate earns 500 in commission, leaving 9,500 net to the seller.
Can I calculate tiered commission structures?
This tool handles a single flat rate. For a tiered structure (e.g. 5% on the first 10,000, 7% above that), run each tier’s portion through the calculator separately using that tier’s rate, then add the resulting commission amounts together.
Does the rate apply before or after fees?
This calculator applies the commission rate to the full sale amount you enter, then adds any flat fee on top. If your agreement calculates commission on a net figure instead, enter that net figure as the sale amount.
